Gemma’s daily inspiration comes from her three children and their quirky antics. She is a strong believer in wild and free kids (and adults) and the grounding effects of nature.

Starting her career as photo editor in the bustling offices at style magazines I-D and The Face, she gained first hand knowledge of working with engaging and bohemian images.

She was then able to bring that knowledge into creating her own pictures, and since then has worked across the board in photography and film from documentary, music and portraiture finally falling into fashion and advertising (where she most happily sits).

Her photos and films still have a candid feel, they capture timeless moments of youth. Her energy and love for what she does plays into the images she creates. After years of experience on set she prides herself on nurturing a relaxed and fun shooting environment for the team and particularly the children.

She now splits her time between Hackney, London, and the Kent coast. After recently spending a year in Portugal she fell in fell in love with the verdant Sintra hills, the rolling surf of the Atlantic Ocean, and the dry golden light of the South, and continues to shoot there as often as she can.
